The HOODY 2 is a Fire and Acoustic speaker hood that conforms with the latest IEE and Building Regulations for Fire and Acoustic integrity of ceilings and walls. The Hoody 2 meets all the UK building and IEE Regulations and has been designed to allow ceiling speakers to have a fire rating of up to 90 minutes.

Suitable for speaker sizes up to 335mm wide and 180mm high.

Hoody 2 Ceiling Speaker Accoustic Fire Hood

I purchased these hoods for both safety and sound insulation. As far as sound insulation is concerned they are excellent. At normal listening volumes no sound makes it through to the room above. At high volume some sound comes through into the room above but that is surely to be expected. Obviously I hope never to put the fire retardant capability to the test.
