Q: Hi can you help me please. I have a a very large room with 6 ceiling speaker connections. I have another room the other side of the house with 2 ceiling speakers. I was told a Sonos amp only did 6 speakers and they would have to be the sonance ones. This means I would need one amp for one room and one amp for the other room (but the app could connection them so they played the same music). However this is advertising a single amp and 8 speakers - which seems to be what I was after (but told I could t have). Can you clarify please? There is also the other box and I have no idea what that dies so can you explain this to me also? Many thanks - I’m looking to buy in Jan. many thank Rachel

A: Thank you for your enquiry.

The information you have received is correct—typically, a single Sonos Amp can power up to six Sonos speakers. However, our solution utilises a speaker switch, allowing up to eight speakers to be driven by a single amp.

The only limitation with this setup is that you cannot play different music in different rooms; the same music will play across both zones or rooms. That said, you can still turn individual speakers on or off and adjust their volume.

Q: Hi, Can this system play 4 different songs in 4 rooms (zones) at the same time?

Asked by: David - 3/3/2026
A: With this system you can only play the same music across all zones with On/Off control of each zone. To play different music in each zone would require 4 x Sonos Amps or the new Sonos Amp Multi.

Q: Hi, is it possible to add more speakers to this?

Asked by: Nick - 12/11/2024
A: Unfortunately not, you would require another Sonos Amp to add more speakers and potentially another speaker switch depending on the total number of speakers required.

Q: I’m looking at your 8 speaker, 4 zone system. I need 10 speakers over 4 zones. Can I add another 2 speakers and have 4 speakers in one of the zones? I don’t want to add a second amp.

Asked by: Joseph Irvine - 5/26/2025
A: The maximum number of speakers you can connect to the AudioFlow speaker switch is 8 x ceiling speakers. To connect an additional 2 speakers, you would need to add another amplifier.

Q: With this 8 speaker package / system can you control the speakers individually via the Sonos app or do you have to use a 3rd party app to select speakers and volumes and the Sonos app for the source?

Asked by: ben - 6/6/2025
A: Yes, that’s correct. The AudioFlow switch allows you to turn pairs of speakers on or off using the AudioFlow app. Music selection and volume control are handled through the Sonos app.

Q: Is the amp limited to 4 zones or could you add more speakers later?

Asked by: Peter Rear - 7/26/2025
A: The 4 Zone system is limited to a total of 4 x pairs of speakers. However the system can easily be expanded by adding another Sonos Amp and further speakers as required.

Q: Is the audio volume controlled by the sonos app per zone or is it a separate app for this element.

Asked by: Keir - 1/7/2026
A: The volume and music playback are controlled via the Sonos App and apply globally across all zones. The AudioFlow 4 Zone smart speaker switch then allows individual On/Off control of each zone via the AudioFlow App.

Q: HI, I want to install x4 speakers in my dining room and then x 4 speakers in my kitchen. Assume this can be done from the same Amp ? And wiring will be required from the speakers to the Amp - and then HDMI from the Amp to my TV ? Thanks, AJ

Asked by: Adrian - 2/19/2026
A: Yes — you can install 4 speakers in your dining room and 4 in your kitchen using the same Sonos Amp included in this bundle. The system is designed to power all 8 ceiling speakers, with the supplied zone switch allowing you to control rooms together or independently. You will need to run speaker cable from the Amp (via the zone switch) to each speaker, and if you want TV audio through the ceiling speakers, simply connect the Sonos Amp to your TV’s HDMI ARC/eARC port using an HDMI cable (an optical adapter can be used if your TV does not support ARC).

Q: Hi Couple of queries required before I can purchase: 1. Can this be made to suit 2 zones? I need only in an open kitchen/dining area space of circa 30m2 and want to split it into those 2 zones (4 speakers per zone). 2. Can the sonos sub woofer be connected to this? 3. Can these speakers be connected to the TV in the dining area? Thanks Sam

Asked by: Sam Watson - 5/21/2026
A: 1 - Yes the 4 zone system can be used in a 2 zone area. The smart speaker switch allows you to switch each pair of speakers in any combination.

2 - A Subwoofer can be added.

3 - The Sonos Amp can connect to a TV via HDMI cable.

Q: I need to wire 6 speakers in a kitchen, 2 in the upstairs bedroom and 2 in another bedroom. With this speaker kit, would I need to buy another amp ? Also would I be able to wire 6 speakers on one channel so all 6 play the same music etc.

Asked by: Chris Jones - 6/26/2026
A: Hi, thanks for your question!
Yes — for your layout you'd need to add a second amp. Each zone on the Audioflow switch powers a pair of speakers, so your 6 kitchen speakers use 3 zones, plus one for each bedroom — 5 zones in total. As this is a 4-zone system, you'd simply add our single-zone Sonos Amp + Sonance CXC6R speaker bundle to cover the 5th zone (which also gives you the extra pair of speakers you need to reach 10).
On your music question: yes, all 6 kitchen speakers play the same music together — you'd just have those zones switched on. Zones 1–4 all share the same stream from the first amp, with independent on/off control of each zone. The second amp gives the 5th zone its own independent music stream, so that room can play something different if you like. And in the Sonos app the two amps can be grouped together — with all four zones enabled, all 10 speakers play in sync.
